PERSEPHONE The first whisper of you footstep awakens lust, an orgy of life, dormant over the desolate winter, bursting the old seams. Newly awakened blood hungers, pushed by a biological imperative. insatiable buds consume branches, flowers fill with birdsong. Beasts of all stripe fight for their chance to be the one. Unions consummated. Seeds must grow to be born or hidden away. Strength must come against the time you leave again. by Scott Reeves 2012 ------- traditional mixed media on Fabriano paper, 19 x 15 in. This piece truly deserves the DD it's been given. It's lovely work and the hair is absolutely amazing. I think what I love most about your work is the softness that seems to be such a natural part of everything you do. It makes your work your own, something I would recognize no matter if I saw your name on the piece or not.
I wonder what the intention is, panting her with a pomegranate in hand? I know that in some cultures view the fruit as symbolic for futility... not entirely convinced though.
this is absolutely gorgeous, i love the old feel to it [: the detail is so lovely to look at, and i adore her expression and pose. i especially love the colors. one thing that bothers me though - i think her breasts are a little too high up. at least, i knew for a fact mine arent that high and perky. still beautiful though.
